Photo Guidelines

Photo Guidelines

1. Image quality
For the best results, we recommend that you use a bright clear image with the subject clear and defined, unobstructed and in full view, taken with plenty of light.

2. Make sure the subjects in your photo are in full view.
We use the exact same photo you send us to create our artwork, so if you send us an image with people cropped at the sides, your artwork will also be cropped and we won't have space to add art around the edges. Please see the examples below:

correct1

Correct, sharp, bright.

too dark1

Too dark.

blurred1

Fuzzy, not clear.

wrong crop1

Incorrect crop.

3. Image Size and Resolution.
Try to use an original photo. Modern cameras and phones produce excellent high resolution images, but using a screenshot or a scan of a photo or social media post can result in a lower resolution file. We recommend a resolution of 3000 x 2000 pixels, but smaller works also well.

A low resolution image is still going to make a good product as long as it is not blurry. You can check your image by zooming in and imagining what it would look like on the print size you want. We can't increase resolution and we don't decrease it either if your picture still looks good on the selected size.

4. Make sure your photos are clear of unwanted details
Check that there are no obstructions or unwanted details in your photo. We can remove backgrounds if needed, but normally any details you include will be in your final artwork. The higher the quality of the image, the better the final print will be.
